Narrated Sa`d bin 'Ubaida: A man came to Ibn `Umar and asked about `Uthman and Ibn `Umar mentioned his good deeds and said to the questioner. "Perhaps these facts annoy you?" The other said, "Yes." Ibn `Umar said, "May Allah stick your nose in the dust (i.e. degrade you)!' Then the man asked him about `Ali. Ibn `Umar mentioned his good deeds and said, "It is all true, and that is his house in the midst of the houses of the Prophet. Perhaps these facts have hurt you?" The questioner said, "Yes." Ibn `Umar said, "May Allah stick your nose in the dust (i.e. degrade you or make you do things which you hate) ! Go away and do whatever you can against me."

Hadith Commentary:
The questioner was a Kharijite named Nafi‘, who considered both ‘Uthman and ‘Ali (radi Allahu anhuma) to be blameworthy. ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radi Allahu anhuma) mentioned the noble lineage of ‘Ali (radi Allahu anhu), but the Kharijites disregarded everything and rebelled against ‘Ali (radi Allahu anhu), thereby falling into misguidance and deviation.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhuma) mentioned among the virtues of Uthman (radi Allahu anhu) the preparation of the Army of Difficulty (Jaysh al-‘Usrah), the purchase of the Well of Rumah, and among the virtues of Ali (radi Allahu anhu) his presence at Badr and Uhud, and the conquest of the fortress of Khaybar, etc.
➋
It appears that the questioner was a Khariji who used to speak ill of both Uthman (radi Allahu anhu) and Ali (radi Allahu anhu).
Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhuma) mentioned Ali’s (radi Allahu anhu) noble lineage and his closeness to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), yet despite this, the Khawarij rebelled against Ali (radi Allahu anhu) and fell into misguidance and deviation.
In one narration, this person said:
“I harbor hatred for Ali (radi Allahu anhu),” so Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhuma) replied:
“Allah will harbor hatred for you.”
