Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "There will be afflictions (and at the time) the sitting person will be better than the standing one, and the standing one will be better than the walking, and the walking will be better than the running. And whoever will look towards those afflictions, they will overtake him, and whoever will find a refuge or a shelter, should take refuge in it."

Hadith Commentary: ➊ In this hadith, there is mention of events that will occur in the future, which is a sign of prophethood. Furthermore, this hadith encourages fleeing from tribulations (fitan) and remaining separate from them. If someone comes near them or takes an interest in them, he will be caught up in their grasp.
➋ In the second hadith, the prayer regarding which a warning has been mentioned refers to the ‘Asr prayer, as has been explicitly stated in the hadith by Ibn ‘Umar (radi Allahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “It is the ‘Asr prayer.” (Sunan an-Nasa’i, al-Mawaqit, Hadith: 481) Nawfal bin Mu‘awiyah (radi Allahu anhu) accepted Islam on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah. He passed away during the rule of Yazid bin Mu‘awiyah. In Sahih al-Bukhari, only this one hadith is narrated from him. (Fath al-Bari: 6/751)

Hadith Commentary:
Benefits and Issues: ➊ Out of necessity, a person in the state of ihram may have cupping (hijama) performed by consensus. If, in the process of cupping, hair needs to be cut, then by consensus, expiation (fidyah) is required. ➋ According to Imam Abu Hanifah rahimahullah, a compensatory sacrifice (dam) is required, while according to his two companions (the Sahibayn), charity (sadaqah) suffices. If no hair is broken, then there is no fidyah. ➌ If one has cupping done without necessity and no hair is broken, then according to the majority, it is permissible. ➍ However, according to Imam Malik rahimahullah, it is disliked (makruh).
