Hadith 3591

Narrated Abu Huraira: I enjoyed the company of Allah's Apostle for three years, and during the other years of my life, never was I so anxious to understand the (Prophet's) traditions as I was during those three years. I heard him saying, beckoning with his hand in this way, "Before the Hour you will fight with people who will have hairy shoes and live in Al-Bazir." (Sufyan, the sub-narrator once said, "And they are the people of Al-Bazir.")

Hadith Commentary:
1.
Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) mentioned a period of stay of three years in the court of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), although he actually stayed for four years, because he arrived at the time of the Battle of Khaybar, which took place in Safar of the seventh year of Hijrah, and the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) passed away in Rabi' al-Awwal of the eleventh year of Hijrah.
Perhaps Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) counted only that period in which he strictly adhered to the blessed gathering, and did not include the period
when the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was on a military expedition or on the journey of Hajj or Umrah, because during those days, there was no such regularity.

2.
At the end of this hadith, the word "bariz" appears, which has several meanings.
➊ Those who will openly participate in fighting against the Muslims.
➋ By this is meant the land of Persia, for "faku base" and "seen" have been replaced with "za"; ➌ those people are meant who will dwell in forests and mountains, because these places are elevated from the earth. Some people have read it as "bazar," that is, "za" first and "ra" after. In the languages of the non-Arabs and Turks, it is called "bazar." The correct word is "bariz."

3.
By this nation is meant the Kurds, Daylamites, and the people of Persia.
They caused great harm to the Muslims.
The destruction wrought at the hands of Hulagu and Genghis Khan is a part of history.
And Allah knows best.
