Hadith Commentary:
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) supplicated for blessing (barakah) in this food.
Even after so many people had eaten, the food still remained.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) ate the food at the house of Abu Talhah and Umm Sulaym (radi Allahu anhuma), and what was left over was sent to the neighbors.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
The aforementioned incident occurred on the occasion of the Battle of Ahzab.
Abu Talhah (radi Allahu anhu) noticed signs of weakness on the radiant face of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). In one narration, it is mentioned that Anas (radi Allahu anhu) saw the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) with a cloth tied around his stomach.
He learned that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had done this due to hunger. He says, “I mentioned this to Abu Talhah (radi Allahu anhu), so he arranged food to the best of his ability.”
(Sahih Muslim, Al-Ashribah, Hadith: 5323(2040))
In one narration, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) touched the ghee with the finger next to the thumb, then wiped his hand over the bread, and it became large.
He recited “Bismillah,” and in this way, the bread kept increasing until a large vessel was filled with that bread.
(Sahih Ibn Hibban bil-Laban: 94/12)
In another narration, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) recited “Bismillah” and supplicated:
“O Allah! Put blessing in it.”
(Musnad Ahmad: 242/3)
In any case, so much blessing was placed in that small amount of food that seventy or eighty people ate to their fill.
In the end, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and his family partook of it.
Even then, food was left over, so it was distributed among the neighbors.
(Sahih Muslim, Al-Ashribah, Hadith: 5321(2040))
In one narration, it is mentioned that the food which remained, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) gathered it in one place and supplicated for blessing upon it, so it became as much as it was before.
(Sahih Muslim, Al-Ashribah, Hadith: 5318(2040))
➋
Previously, the miracle was the multiplication of water.
From this hadith, the miracle of the multiplication of food is known.
An even more wondrous miracle is that which Jabir (radi Allahu anhu) has narrated: People complained of hunger to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), so he said:
“Allah will surely provide for it.”
Thereafter, we came to the seashore, and the sea cast out a very large fish.
We lit a fire on the shore and roasted it, eating from it for several days.
It was so large that five men could sit hidden inside the socket of its eye. Then we stood one of its rib bones upright on the ground, and a tall man, who was also tall among camels, passed underneath it, and he passed easily.
His head did not strike the top.
(Sahih Muslim, Al-Zuhd wal-Raqa’iq, Hadith: 7520, 3014)
