Hadith 3542

Narrated `Uqba bin Al-Harith: (Once) Abu Bakr offered the `Asr prayer and then went out walking and saw Al-Hasan playing with the boys. He lifted him on to his shoulders and said, " Let my parents be sacrificed for your sake! (You) resemble the Prophet and not `Ali," while `Ali was smiling.

Hadith Commentary:
Hasan (radi Allahu anhu) greatly resembled the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
In the narration of Anas (radi Allahu anhu), it is stated that Husayn (radi Allahu anhu) greatly resembled him.
There is no contradiction between these two reports.
The aspects of resemblance were different; some have said that Hasan (radi Allahu anhu) resembled him in the upper half of the body, and Husayn (radi Allahu anhu) in the lower half.
In short, both princes were the complete image of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
This hadith also refutes the Rafidah, who consider Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (radi Allahu anhu) to be an enemy and opponent of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), because this incident is after his (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) passing; even a fool could not think otherwise.
As long as Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (radi Allahu anhu) was alive, he remained a well-wisher and devoted supporter of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and his family and descendants.
Radi Allahu anhu wa ardah.
