حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ بْنِ حَيَّانَ أَبُو زَكَرِيَّاءَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ
ابْنِ عُمَرَرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَن رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَمَّا نَزَلَ الْحِجْرَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ أَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ لَا يَشْرَبُوا مِنْ بِئْرِهَا وَلَا يَسْتَقُوا مِنْهَا ، فَقَالُوا : قَدْ عَجَنَّا مِنْهَا وَاسْتَقَيْنَا فَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَطْرَحُوا ذَلِكَ الْعَجِينَ وَيُهَرِيقُوا ذَلِكَ الْمَاءَ " ، وَيُرْوَى عَنْ سَبْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ ، وَأَبِي الشُّمُوسِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِإِلْقَاءِ الطَّعَامِ ، وَقَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنِ اعْتَجَنَ بِمَائِهِ .
Narrated Ibn `Umar: When Allah's Apostle landed at Al-Hijr during the Ghazwa of Tabuk, he ordered his companions not to drink water from its well or reserve water from it. They said, "We have already kneaded the dough with its water. and also filled our bags with its water.'' On that, the Prophet ordered them to throw away the dough and pour out the water.

Hadith Commentary:
The hadith of Sabrah has been connected (wasl) by Tabarani and Abu Nu‘aym, and the narration of Abu al-Shamus has been connected by Tabarani and Ibn Mandah, and the narration of Abu Dharr has been connected by Bazzar.
Since Allah’s punishment descended at this place, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade the use of its water, lest hearts become hardened or some other illness arise from it.

Hadith Commentary:
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade drinking the water from the well at the place of Hijr because it was an accursed location, and a people had been subjected to punishment there. It was feared that, due to this water, people might become hard-hearted or be afflicted with some physical illness.

It is understood from this hadith that drawing water from and using the wells located in places where Allah’s punishment descended is disliked (makruh). It is also evident that there were multiple wells in that area; however, one well belonged to the relatives of the woman who had told her lover Qidar:
“This she-camel should be killed, as it is depleting the water of our well.”
So that wretched man killed the she-camel.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) only permitted taking water from the well from which the she-camel of Prophet Salih (alayhis salam) used to drink.

It is said that Qidar was born out of wedlock, and because he was born on the bed of Salif, he was attributed to him.
