Hadith 3243

Narrated `Abdullah bin Qais Al-Ash`ari: The Prophet said, "A tent (in Paradise) is like a hollow pearl which is thirty miles in height and on every corner of the tent the believer will have a family that cannot be seen by the others." (Narrated Abu `Imran in another narration, "The tent is sixty miles in height.")

Hadith Commentary:

It is understood from this hadith that in Paradise, the women—comprising both the houris and the wives from this world—will be more numerous than the men.
It is narrated from Abu al-Darda’ radi Allahu anhu that the tent in Paradise, which will be made from a hollow pearl, will have seventy doors.
(al-Zuhd by Ibn al-Mubarak, p. 487, Dar al-Kutub al-‘Ilmiyyah edition)
The word “tent” here alludes to the noble verse:
()
“Houris, secluded in tents.”
(al-Rahman: 55:72)
Accordingly, Imam al-Bukhari rahimahullah has mentioned this hadith in the commentary of this noble verse, in which it is explicitly stated that the tent of hollow pearl will be sixty miles high.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Tafsir:
Hadith 4879)

Imam al-Bukhari rahimahullah has described the attributes of Paradise, stating that there will be tents of this kind, made from a single pearl.
In any case, the people of Paradise will be granted palaces in Paradise.
Most likely, these tents will be used during journeys.
And Allah knows best.

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: In Paradise, a believer’s tent will be sixty miles long, sixty miles wide, and sixty miles high, meaning its length, width, and depth will all be equal. In every corner, there will be his household. If by “household” (ahl) is meant “wife,” then the meaning will be that every inhabitant of Paradise will have more than two wives. Therefore, Qadi ‘Iyad, Hafiz Ibn Hajar, and others hold the view that every inhabitant of Paradise will have two wives from among the women of this world, and the rest will be from among the women of Paradise. Or, it may be that by “household” is meant dependents, servants, and attendants, and the wives will be distinct and clearly identified. Because, according to Hafiz Ibn al-Qayyim, apart from this narration of Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari radi Allahu anhu, there is no other authentic narration regarding more than two wives.
