Hadith Commentary:
➊
Karmani has said:
Banu Ghanm is a tribe that is related to Banu Taghlib.
This is a misconception because they were not in Madinah at that time.
What is meant here is a branch of the tribe of Khazraj, who were among the Ansar.
Abu Ayyub al-Ansari radi Allahu anhu was also from this family.
(‘Umdat al-Qari: 10/576)
➋
The narrator of the hadith, Musa ibn Isma‘il, has been cited by Imam al-Bukhari rahimahullah with a connected chain of narration.
This refers to the time when the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam set out to deal with Banu Qurayzah.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Maghazi, Hadith: 4118)
➌
Since this hadith mentions Jibril (Gabriel) and his army, Imam al-Bukhari rahimahullah has used this hadith as evidence for the existence of angels.
