Hadith 3192

Narrated 'Umar: One day the Prophet stood up amongst us for a long period and informed us about the beginning of creation (and talked about everything in detail) till he mentioned how the people of Paradise will enter their places and the people of Hell will enter their places. Some remembered what he had said, and some forgot it.

Hadith Commentary:
From this hadith, it is understood that everything besides Allah is originated (hadith) and created (makhluq).
The Throne (Arsh), the Footstool (Farsh), the heavens, and the earth—all of them have this distinction: the Throne existed before all other things.
However, it too is originated and created.
In summary, this hadith invalidates the doctrine of the philosophers who consider matter, perception (i.e., intellect), the heavens, and the earth to be eternal (qadeem) besides Allah, and it also refutes those Sufis who do not consider the human soul (ruh) to be created.
From this hadith, it is understood that Allah created water first, and then the earth, heavens, and other things came into existence.

Hadith Commentary:
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam informed (the Companions) of all matters from the beginning of creation to livelihood and refuge.
This was a miracle of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that he narrated all these reports in a single sitting.
There is further clarification of this in Sahih Muslim, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam led the Fajr prayer and, standing at one place, delivered a sermon until the time for (the next) prayer arrived.
He descended from the pulpit, performed the Dhuhr prayer, then ascended the pulpit and delivered a sermon, then performed the Asr prayer, until the sun set.
In this address, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned everything that had occurred and everything that would occur until the Day of Resurrection:
The most knowledgeable among us was the one who remembered the most of these matters.
(Sahih Muslim, Al-Fitan, Hadith: 7267(2892))
To mention everything that will occur until the Day of Resurrection in such a short time is a miracle of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, even if it apparently seems contrary to reason.
