Hadith Commentary:

The intent of the chapter and the hadith is clear: striving to remain in a state of confrontation with the enemy is not a commendable thing. Reconciliation, peace, and security are, in any case, necessary. Therefore, war should never be initiated without cause, nor should one desire it. However, when the situation becomes unbearable and there is no alternative but to fight, then it is necessary to confront the enemy with patience, steadfastness, and full strength.

Hadith Commentary:

The religion of Islam enjoins us to live in peace and security.
Striving to be in a state of conflict with the enemy is not a good thing; therefore, war should never be initiated without cause, nor should there even be a desire for it. However, when the situation becomes unavoidable and there is no alternative except war, then it is necessary to confront the enemy with patience, steadfastness, and full strength.

Desiring to confront the enemy is also prohibited because it involves pride and arrogance, and reliance on one's own strength and military capabilities instead of Allah, which Allah, the Exalted, does not like.
