Hadith Commentary:
➊ From this hadith, it is understood that women can participate in jihad; they can also provide water and similar assistance to the fighters, and, when necessary, may treat non-mahram (those to whom marriage is permissible) as well.
➋ Women who know how to provide medical treatment may bandage the wounds of the fighters, because touching the site of the wound does not produce any pleasure or the like; rather, seeing a wounded and mutilated body causes one's hair to stand on end and induces fear. Furthermore, these women used to help bring the fighters to Madinah Tayyibah. However, bringing the slain (martyred) to Madinah is questionable.
