بَابُ تَمَنِّي الْمُجَاهِدِ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا:Chapter. The wish of the (martyred) Mujahid to return to the world.
Hadith 2817

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا أَحَدٌ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا ، وَلَهُ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا الشَّهِيدُ يَتَمَنَّى أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا ، فَيُقْتَلَ : عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ لِمَا يَرَى مِنَ الْكَرَامَةِ " .
Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, "Nobody who enters Paradise likes to go back to the world even if he got everything on the earth, except a Mujahid who wishes to return to the world so that he may be martyred ten times because of the dignity he receives (from Allah)."

In one narration, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said to Jabir (radi Allahu anhu):
“Do you know what Allah, the Exalted, said to your noble father?” He replied that Allah said:
‘O Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu)! Express any wish so that it may be fulfilled.’
Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) submitted:
‘O Allah! Bring me back to life so that I may be martyred again in Your path.’
Allah, the Exalted, said that it has already been decreed and decided that whoever has departed from the world will not be sent back under any circumstances.”
(Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi, Tafsir al-Qur’an, Hadith 3010)

From the aforementioned hadith, the greatness of martyrdom (shahadah) becomes evident. In reality, among virtuous deeds, there is only one jihad in which a person offers his life as a sacrifice; therefore, the status of martyrdom has been made very lofty.

Surah Al-Fatihah and the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah have been described as light, by whose illumination a person traverses his journey. Surah Al-Fatihah, which is the code of life and the name of a radiant existence, contains its summary and essence. By walking in its light, a person can, with success and triumph, remain steadfast upon the straight path (sirat al-mustaqim) and attain the objective of life. Similarly, in the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, the pillars of faith (arkan al-iman) are mentioned, and there is supplication for one’s success and triumph, as well as the request for every desired and beloved thing.
