Hadith Commentary:
➊
According to this hadith, Aisha (radi Allahu anha) considered jihad to be the most virtuous of all deeds, and the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not object to this.
➋
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said to a woman whose husband had participated in jihad:
"Do you have the strength to stand in prayer continuously without resting, to fast perpetually without missing a single day, and to remain constantly engaged in remembrance (dhikr) without becoming heedless, until your husband returns?"
She replied:
"O Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), I do not have that much strength."
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"By the One in Whose hand is my soul! Even if you had such strength, you would still not reach one-tenth of the reward your husband receives for jihad."
