The Book of Gifts and The Superiority of Giving Gifts and The Exhortation for Giving Gifts
بَابُ لاَ يَحِلُّ لأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فِي هِبَتِهِ وَصَدَقَتِهِ:
(30) Chapter. It is not legal for anyone to take back his presents or Sadaqa (things given in charity).
Hadith 2622

، عَنْ
عِكْرِمَةَ
، عَنِ
ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ لَنَا مَثَلُ السَّوْءِ الَّذِي يَعُودُ فِي هِبَتِهِ ، كَالْكَلْبِ يَرْجِعُ فِي قَيْئِهِ " .
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet said, "The bad example is not for us. He who takes back his present is like a dog that swallows back its vomit."
