Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet said, "When the people of Ash`ari tribe ran short of food during the holy battles, or the food of their families in Medina ran short, they would collect all their remaining food in one sheet and then distribute it among themselves equally by measuring it with a bowl. So, these people are from me, and I am from them."

Hadith Commentary: That is, they are specifically upon my way and my Sunnah, and I am upon their way. From this hadith, it is derived that in travel or at home, gathering provisions together and distributing them equally is recommended (mustahabb). The relevance to the chapter heading is apparent: And its correspondence to the translation is taken from his statement: "They gathered what they had in a single cloth, then divided it among themselves." Hadith Commentary: Gathering food supplies together and distributing them by estimation is not exclusive to travel; rather, this action can also be done in residence, as is mentioned regarding the practice of the people of the Ash‘ari tribe: whenever they were in need, whatever food and drink supplies they had, they would combine them and distribute them equally.
This is the best type of partnership.
In times of difficulty, this can be done, and there is no need to be particular about any increase or decrease, such as if one person contributed less but received more in the distribution.
