Hadith Commentary:
From this hadith, it is understood that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to perform the Asr prayer when the shadow was one length (i.e., when an object's shadow was equal to its length); otherwise, whoever performs the Asr prayer at the time when the shadow is two lengths, it would be difficult for him to complete this task within that time.
From this hadith, the meaning of the chapter is derived in such a way that the meat of the camel used to be distributed merely by estimation.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
Meat and similar items are weighed by scale, but according to this hadith, it was divided into ten portions by estimation. This too was a kind of analogical weighing. In customary practice, it is permissible to divide a heavy item into portions in another form like this.
(2)
This narration also proves that there was enough time between the Asr and Maghrib prayers that a camel would be slaughtered, its meat prepared and divided into ten portions, and then cooked and eaten before Maghrib. From this, it is understood that in the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), the Asr prayer was performed when the shadow was equal to the object (one shadow-length). If it had been performed at two shadow-lengths, accomplishing all these tasks in that time would have been extremely difficult. And Allah knows best.
