Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Whoever takes the money of the people with the intention of repaying it, Allah will repay it on his behalf, and whoever takes it in order to spoil it, then Allah will spoil him."

Hadith Commentary:
The Prophetic hadith is clear in its meaning.
Whoever intends to repay (a debt), Allah the Exalted certainly creates some means and resources for him, through which he is able to repay the debt.
And whoever does not even have the intention to repay, Allah does not help him either.
In such a case, taking a loan is as if one is committing robbery upon people's wealth.
Then, the credibility of such people is also lost.
And when everyone becomes aware of his dishonesty, they cease all dealings with him.
In summary, when taking a loan, it is necessary to have the intention and concern to repay it.

Hadith Commentary:
Allah Almighty deals with His servants according to their intentions.
If they have a good intention, He grants them its fruits in this world and the Hereafter, and if someone’s intention is corrupt, He subjects him to the evil consequences of his ill-intent.
If a person takes something or money from someone and his intention is to repay it, then Allah Almighty creates some means for its repayment in this world, or in the Hereafter Allah will please the creditor by granting him maidens (houris) and beautiful palaces, and will not humiliate or disgrace the debtor before the people.
On the contrary, if his intention is not to repay, then Allah Almighty ruins the reputation of such people even in this world.
Other people, becoming aware of his dishonesty, cease to have dealings with him; furthermore, his life becomes constrained, or he suffers some physical or financial loss, and in the Hereafter he will also be subjected to punishment. In short, at the time of taking a loan, it is necessary to have the intention and concern to repay it.

Benefits and Issues:
➊ What is meant by “wasting” is that he does not intend to return it; from the owner’s perspective, this wealth is destroyed because he will not get it back.
➋ Wealth acquired through unlawful means does not contain any blessing.
➌ The punishment for such a crime can be meted out in this world as well, such that the person may fall into circumstances where he becomes destitute, and in the Hereafter too, he may be punished: his deeds may be rendered void or given to the creditor, and he himself may end up in Hellfire. This is a tremendous destruction.

Takhrij:
«أخرجه البخاري، الاستقراض، باب من أخذ أموال الناس يريد أداءها، حديث:2387.»©Explanation:
A person who takes a loan out of necessity and with the intention of repayment, Allah Ta'ala grants him the means and ability to repay it. But the one whose intention is to usurp the wealth, he is not granted the means and resources for repayment, and even if those means become available, due to the constriction of his heart, he is not granted the ability to repay.
