Hadith Commentary:
(1)
Previously, the discussion was about making oaths and covenants; from this narration, it is understood that what is meant here is brotherhood (mu’akhah).
(2)
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) initiated the scheme of making a Muhajir (emigrant) the brother of an Ansari (helper) immediately after the migration, so that the Ansar could provide some facilities to the incoming Muhajirin in the new environment and help them to stand on their own feet.
In this narration, an incident of this very type of brotherhood (mu’akhah) has been mentioned.
