Hadith Commentary: By "measure and weight" is meant measurement by volume and weighing by mass.
It is also necessary to determine with which unit the weighing will be done—whether it is kilo or the old seer or mann.
All such matters must also be clearly specified.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah refutes the Shafi'is, because according to them, a transaction is permissible only when it is cash for cash. In any case, if an agreement is made that "I will receive two maunds of wheat from you, worth one thousand rupees, exactly three months from today," and the type and description of the wheat are also specified, and then the buyer immediately hands over the one thousand rupees to the seller, then it is permissible.
Now, after the completion of the specified period, the seller must deliver the specified weight of grain to the buyer.
(2)
By "measure and weight" is meant measurement and weighing.
Whichever unit is to be used for weighing or measuring—such as kilogram, seer, chhatank, meter, or foot, etc.—all these matters must be specified so that no kind of dispute arises in the future.
