Hadith Commentary:
That is, in the noble verse ﴿فَفِدْيَةٌ مِنْ صِيَامٍ أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍ﴾, by "nusuk" a goat is meant.

Shaykh Abdul Sattar al-Hammad
Hadith Commentary:
(1)
From this hadith, the meaning of the word "nusuk" in the Qur'anic verse is clarified, that by it is meant a goat. Thus, at the end of the narration reported by Mujahid, it is stated that Allah the Exalted revealed this verse:
﴿فَفِدْيَةٌ مِّن صِيَامٍ أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍ﴾ “Then he should offer a ransom of fasting, or charity, or sacrifice (nusuk).” (, al-Baqarah: 196:2)
And in this noble verse, by "nusuk" is meant a goat.
(Fath al-Bari: 24/4)
In the narration of Abu Dawud, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) ordered him to slaughter a cow.
(Sunan Abi Dawud, al-Manasik, Hadith: 1859)
However, in this narration, there is an intermediary between Nafi‘ and Ka‘b ibn ‘Ujrah (radi Allahu anhu) about whom the hadith scholars have differed, and in comparison to Sahih al-Bukhari, this narration holds no standing.
And Allah knows best.

(2)
It should be clear that Ka‘b ibn ‘Ujrah (radi Allahu anhu) had his head shaved due to the distress caused by lice, not because of any obstruction that prevented him from doing so.
This is evidence that whoever has hope of reaching the House of Allah (Bayt Allah) should remain in the state until he despairs of being able to go there.
