Hadith Commentary:
(1)
From the hadith presented by Imam Bukhari rahimahullah, it is understood that the negation in the title is not of the genus (essence), but rather a negation of perfection. That is, it is better for a person that after giving charity, he should still have enough wealth left to fulfill his and his family's needs. After giving charity, the giver should remain affluent. This affluence is of two types: one is that the richness and affluence of the heart remain, as Hazrat Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu expressed his complete reliance (tawakkul) due to this strength of heart; or, the financial affluence remains, by which he can fulfill his needs.

(2)
In light of the aforementioned ahadith, Imam Bukhari rahimahullah has provided the guidance that it is beneficial for a person to give charity and alms only when he keeps the Shari'ah limits in view. No one is permitted to become heedless of his family and give away all his property in the way of Allah, leaving his heirs destitute and needy. Doing so would be a violation of the rights of the heirs. Yes, if someone is a patient and grateful Muslim like Hazrat Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu, then for him, it is permissible to show the utmost self-sacrifice; however, nowadays, such examples are not found even after searching.
