Hadith Commentary:
From this it is understood that first, after performing istinja (cleaning oneself after relieving oneself) and similar acts, ablution (wudu) should be performed. Rinsing the mouth and putting water into the nose are also established from this. Then, the ritual bath (ghusl) should be performed, and the washing should be started from the right side.

Hadith Commentary:
From this hadith, it is understood that the deceased should be given ablution (wudu) before the ritual bath (ghusl). It is also understood that first, the private parts, etc., should be cleansed, and that rinsing the mouth and putting water into the nose during ablution is recommended (mustahabb). This ablution is a part of the ritual bath.
(Fath al-Bari: 3/168)
When performing ablution, it is not possible to put water into the mouth and nose of the deceased, so these should be cleaned with cotton, etc.
