The Book of Dealing With Actions In As-Salat (The Prayer)
بَابُ التَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ:
(5) Chapter. Clapping [during the Salat (prayer)] is permissible only for women.
Hadith 1204

، عَنْ
سُفْيَانَ
، عَنْ
أَبِي حَازِمٍ
، عَنْ
سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ
رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "التَّسْبِيحُ للرِّجَالِ وَالتَّصْفِيحُ لِلنِّسَاءِ " .
Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: The Prophet said, "The saying 'Sub Han Allah' is for men and clapping is for women.
