The Book of Salat-Ut-Tahajjud (Night Prayer)
بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّطَوُّعِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى:
(25) Chapter. What is said about the Nawafil being offered as two Raka followed by two and so on.
Hadith 1163
حَدَّثَنَا الْمَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ ، سَمِعَ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ بْنَ رِبْعِيٍّ الْأنْصَارِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلَا يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet was never more regular and particular in offering any Nawafil than the two rak`at (Sunna) of the Fajr prayer.
