Land tax on conquered land
Hadith 1108
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ، قَالَ : ثنا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ آدَمَ ، قَالَ : ثنا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنَعَتِ الْعِرَاقُ قَفِيزَهَا وَدِرْهَمَهَا ، وَمَنَعَتِ الشَّامُ مُدْيَهَا وَدِينَارَهَا ، وَمَنَعَتْ مِصْرُ إِرْدَبَّهَا وَدِينَارَهَا ، وَعُدْتُمْ مِنْ حَيْثُ بَدَأْتُمْ " ، قَالَهَا ثَلاثًا ، شَهِدَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ لَحْمُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَدَمُهُ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Iraq will withhold its qafiz (measure) and dirham, Sham will withhold its mudd and dinar, Egypt will withhold its irdabb (measure) and dinar (they will either be subjugated or accept Islam, due to which jizya will be suspended), and you will return to where you started from. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated these words three times, that the flesh and blood of Abu Hurairah bear witness to this (i.e., this hadith is absolutely true).
