Following up with armies
Hadith 1095
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ كَعْبٍ الأَنْصَارِيَّ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ جَيْشًا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالُوا : " يَا عُمَرُ ، إِنَّكَ غَفَلْتَ عَنَّا وَأَغْفَلْتَنَا وَتَرَكْتَ فِينَا الَّذِي أَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِعْقَابِ الْجُيُوشِ بَعْضَ الْغَزِيَّةِ بَعْضًا " ، وَذَكَرَ بَاقِيَ الْحَدِيثِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ka'b Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a group of the Ansari companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): "Umar! You have become heedless of us and have made us heedless as well, whereas the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had given an order regarding the rotation of armies concerning us, but you have stopped acting upon it."
