باب ما جاء في تعجيل قسم الغنائم بقرب العدو
Distributing booty quickly near the enemy
Hadith 1083
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ ، قَالَ : ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْسِمُ الْغَنَائِمَ بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : اعْدِلْ فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تَعْدِلْ ، فَقَالَ : وَيْحَكَ وَمَنْ يَعْدِلُ إِذَا لَمْ أَعْدَلْ ؟ قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : دَعْنِي أَضْرِبْ عُنُقَ هَذَا الْمُنَافِقِ ، فَقَالَ : دَعْهُ ، فَإِنَّ هَذَا مَعَ أَصْحَابٍ لَهُ ، أَوْ فِي أَصْحَابٍ لَهُ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ ، يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was distributing war booty at Ji‘ranah when a man stood up and said: Be just, you have not acted justly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Woe to you! If I do not act justly, then who will? Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Allow me, I will strike the neck of this hypocrite. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Leave him, he will be with his companions who will recite the Qur’an but it will not go beyond their throats; they will leave the religion just as an arrow passes through its prey.
