Hadith 985
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘Umra (a gift given for a lifetime) belongs to the heirs of the recipient, or it is permissible for the recipient’s family.
Hadith 986
This narration is also reported from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 987
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever gives someone an ‘Umra (life grant) for him and his children, then it will belong to the one to whom it was given; the giver will not get it back, because he has given such a gift in which inheritance has taken effect.
Hadith 988
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that the ‘Umra which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared permissible is that (the giver) says: “This is for you and your heirs.” But if he says: “This thing is yours as long as you are alive,” then it will return to the owner. Mu’ammar says that this was also the fatwa of Zuhri.
Hadith 989
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ruqba belongs to the one to whom it is gifted, and Umra also belongs to the one to whom it is gifted (for a lifetime)."

Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Neither Raqba (taking back) is permissible nor Umra. Whoever is given Umra or Raqba, then that thing belongs to him in his lifetime and after his death as well. Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: Raqba is that a man says to another: "From my side and your side (i.e., if I die first, it is yours, and if you die first, it will return to me)," and Umra is that he gives that thing to him for his lifetime. Ata says: If it is given for a year or two years or for a fixed period, it is a gift, not Umra.
