Hadith 910
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub رضي الله عنه reports that the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: Every child is held in pledge for his ‘aqiqah; on the seventh day, an animal should be sacrificed on his behalf, his head should be shaved, and he should be named.
Hadith 911
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ‘Aqiqah for Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them), one ram each.
Hadith 912
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the ‘Aqiqah of one ram on behalf of Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and also performed the ‘Aqiqah of one ram on behalf of Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him). This has been narrated by Thawri, Ibn ‘Uyaynah, Hammad bin Zayd and others from Ayyub, and they did not mention beyond ‘Ikrimah.
Hadith 913
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Neither Fara’ is permissible nor ‘Atirah. The first offspring of a she-camel, which they used to slaughter in the name of their idols, was called Fara’, and the goat which they used to slaughter in the first ten days of Rajab was called ‘Atirah.
