Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah Almighty will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter.

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we were present in the gathering of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he said: Pledge allegiance to me on the condition that you will not associate anything with Allah, will not steal, and will not commit adultery. He also recited the verse before them. Whoever fulfills this pledge, his reward is with Allah Almighty. And whoever commits any of these sins and is punished for it, then that (punishment) will be an expiation for him. Whoever commits any of these sins and Allah Almighty conceals it for him, then his matter is with Allah; if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him.

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that a woman from the Makhzum tribe, who used to take goods on credit and then deny them, committed theft. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her hand to be cut off. Her family came to Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) and spoke to him (about forgiveness), so Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) spoke to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Usama! Are you interceding with me regarding a limit set by Allah?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to deliver a sermon and said: "The people before you were destroyed because when a noble person among them committed theft, they would let him go, but when a weak person committed theft, they would cut off his hand. By Him in Whose hand is my soul! If Fatima bint Muhammad (my own daughter) had committed theft, I would have cut off her hand as well." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the hand of the Makhzumi woman cut off.
Hadith 805
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Quraysh were troubled by the case of the woman who had committed theft, so they said: Who will speak to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about her? The narrators have reported the complete hadith.
Hadith 806
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the matter of the woman who had committed theft worried the Quraysh.

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was given a choice between two matters, he would choose the easier of the two. Except for the limits set by Allah, he never took revenge for any excess committed against him by anyone, and he would not forgive anyone who transgressed the limits of Allah.
Hadith 808
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Three people are exempt from accountability; (that is, not liable) the sleeping person until he wakes up, the child until he reaches puberty, and the insane person until he regains sanity.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that on the day of the Battle of Uhud, I was fourteen years old. I presented myself before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for battle, but he did not permit me. Then on the day of the Battle of Khandaq, I was fifteen years old. I presented myself before him, and he permitted me. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: During the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), I came to him and narrated this hadith before him. He said: This is the boundary between a child and a young man. Accordingly, he wrote to his governors to grant a stipend to a fifteen-year-old boy, and whoever is younger than this, let him remain with his family.
