Hadith 313
Hammam bin Munabbih (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) led the prayer on a platform in Madinah, and Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was also behind him. He grabbed his garment and pulled it. When the prayer was finished, Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do you not know that it is disliked to pray like this?" He replied: "Yes! Do you not see that I remembered?"
Hadith 314
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I and an orphan child stood behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and performed prayer, and Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) stood behind us and performed prayer.
Hadith 315
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to hold our shoulders while we were standing in prayer and would say: "Stand in straight rows and do not differ in the rows (do not stand ahead or behind), for then your hearts will differ."
Hadith 316
Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when we would stand for prayer, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would hold our chests and shoulders and say: “Do not be uneven in your rows, otherwise discord will arise in your hearts.” He would also say: “Allah Almighty and the angels send blessings upon those in the first row or those in the front rows.”
Hadith 317
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best row for men in prayer is the first row, and the worst is the last. Abu Muhammad says that perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: The worst row for women is the first, and the best is the last.
