Hadith 111
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «يَتَصَدَّقُ بِدِينَارٍ أَوْ نِصْفِ دِينَارٍ».
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He should give a dinar or half a dinar in charity.
Hadith 120
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ، وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ آدَمَ، قَالَا: ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا أَسْمَاءَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلْتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ يُصِيبُهُ دَمُ الْحَيْضَةِ قَالَ: «حُتِّيهِ وَاقْرُصِيهِ وَرُشِّيهِ بِالْمَاءِ وَصَلِّي».
Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A woman asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about a garment that had menstrual blood on it. He said: Scrape it off, then rub it with water, and after squeezing out the water, perform prayer in it.
Hadith 119
حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: «تُمْسِكُ النُّفَسَاءُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا».
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that women experiencing postnatal bleeding will not perform prayer for forty days.
Hadith 118
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، «أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَقْرَبُ النِّسَاءَ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا يَعْنِي فِي النِّفَاسِ» ، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَأَسْنَدَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهُذَلِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ.
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abu al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that during the period of nifas (postnatal bleeding), he would not go near his wives (for intercourse) for forty days. Abu Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Abu Bakr Hadhli (may Allah have mercy on him) has narrated this report as musnad from Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him).
Hadith 117
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْحَائِضِ إِذَا أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ مِنَ الْمَحِيضِ قَالَ: «خُذِي مَاءَكِ وَسِدْرَكِ ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي فَأَنْقِي ثُمَّ صُبِّي عَلَى رَأْسِكِ حَتَّى تُبْلِغِي شُئُونَ الرَّأْسِ ثُمَّ خُذِي فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً» ، قَالَتْ: كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ؟ فَسَكَتَ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ: كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ؟ فَسَكَتَ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: خُذِي فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً فَتَتَبَّعِي بِهَا أَثَرَ الدَّمِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْمَعُ فَمَا أَنْكَرَ عَلَيْهَا.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: An Ansari woman asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about a menstruating woman: if she wants to perform the ritual bath after menstruation (how should she do it?). He said: Perform a thorough bath with water and lotus leaves, then pour water over your head so that it reaches the roots of the hair, then take a perfumed cloth. She asked: What should I do with this cloth? The Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. The woman repeated the same question, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) again remained silent. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Take the perfumed cloth and clean the places where there is blood. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was listening, but he did not object.
Hadith 116
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ تَرَى مَا يُرِيبُهَا بَعْدَ الطُّهْرِ قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا هِيَ عِرْقٌ أَوْ عُرُوقٌ.
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that if a woman, after becoming pure, sees blood and becomes doubtful, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding her: This is blood from a vein.
Hadith 115
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ الْمُعَلِّمُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، «أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تُهَرَاقُ الدَّمَ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ وَتُصَلِّي» وَرَوَاهُ مَعْمَرٌ وَهِشَامٌ فَقَالَا: عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ.
Sayyida Zaynab bint Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that a woman, who was married to Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), used to bleed excessively. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to perform ghusl at the time of every prayer and then offer the prayer. Mu’ammar and Hisham have mentioned the name of this woman as Sayyida Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her).
Hadith 114
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ عِرَاكٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: إِنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحْتَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ شَكَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الدَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهَا: «امْكُثِي قَدْرَ مَا كَانَتْ تَحْبِسُكِ حَيْضَتُكِ ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي» ، قَالَتْ: وَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Lady Umm Habibah bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), who was married to Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), complained of non-menstrual bleeding (istihada) before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For as many days as you used to leave prayer due to menstruation, now also leave prayer for the same number of days, then perform ghusl (ritual bath) and offer prayer." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: She used to perform ghusl for every prayer.
Hadith 113
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ صَخْرِ بْنِ جُوَيْرِيَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ رَجُلٌ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تُهَرَاقُ دَمًا لَا يَفْتُرُ عَنْهَا فَسَأَلَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «لِتَنْظُرْ عِدَّةَ الْأَيَّامِ وَاللَّيَالِي الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحِيضُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ وَعَدَدَهُنَّ فَلْتَتْرُكِ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْرَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ وَلْتَسْتَثْفِرْ بِثَوْبٍ وَتُصَلِّي» قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَهَكَذَا قَالَ مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، وَاللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا وَقَالَ مَالِكٌ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَغَيْرُهُمْ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، وَقَالَ أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ نَفْسِهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ.
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that a woman used to have excessive (istihada) bleeding, which would not stop. Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so he (peace be upon him) said: She should count the number of days she used to have menstruation before this (illness), and leave prayer for those days. After that, when the time for prayer comes, she should perform ghusl, tie a cloth (to prevent the blood), and offer prayer.
Abu Muhammad says: Musa bin Uqbah and Laith bin Sa’d have also mentioned an intermediary between Sulaiman and Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), whereas Malik, Ubaidullah, and Yahya did not mention an intermediary between Sulaiman and Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her). Ayub also did not mention Nafi’ as an intermediary, rather he narrated with the words “from Sulaiman, from Umm Salamah.”

Hadith 112
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَأَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، قَالَا: ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، قَالَ: أَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ: «لَا إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عَرْقٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدُعِي الصَّلَاةَ فَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي».
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Fatima bint Abu Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I suffer from Istihada (non-menstrual bleeding), due to which I cannot remain pure. Should I stop praying? He said: This is not menstruation, rather it is blood from a vein. When menstruation comes, leave the prayer. When the menstruation ends, wash off the blood and perform the prayer.
Hadith 101
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، أَنَّ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ابْنَ عُلَيَّةَ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ الْعَدَوِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتِ امْرَأَةٌ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا: أَتَقْضِي الْحَائِضُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَتْ: «أَحَرُورِيَّةٌ أَنْتِ قَدْ كُنَّا نَحِيضُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَا نَقْضِي وَلَا نُؤْمَرُ بِالْقَضَاءِ».
Mu’adhah ‘Adawiyyah (may Allah have mercy on her) narrates that a woman asked Sayyidah ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): “Will a woman who was menstruating (and passed away) have to make up the missed prayers?” She replied: “Are you a Haruriyyah (from the settlement of the Khawarij near Kufa)? During the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), we too would menstruate, and we neither made up the missed prayers nor were we ordered to do so.”
Hadith 110
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لِشُعْبَةَ: إِنَّكَ كُنْتَ تَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَجْنُونًا فَصَحِحْتُ.
Abdur Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him) did not narrate this hadith as marfu‘, so someone said to him: “You used to narrate this hadith as marfu‘ (why don’t you do so now?)” He replied: “Earlier I was insane, now I am fine.”
Hadith 109
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: وَزَعَمَ فُلَانٌ أَنَّ الْحَكَمَ كَانَ لَا يَرْفَعُهُ فَقِيلَ لِشُعْبَةَ: حَدِّثْنَا بِمَا سَمِعْتَ وَدَعَ قَوْلَ فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ فَقَالَ: مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنْ أَعْمُرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُمْرَ نُوحٍ وَإِنِّي تَحَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا أَوْ سَكَتُّ عَنْ هَذَا.
This narration is also mentioned from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) with another chain of transmission. Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: So-and-so says, Hakam bin ‘Utaybah (may Allah have mercy on him) did not narrate this narration as marfu‘. Someone said to Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him): Leave aside what so-and-so says and narrate to us what you have heard. He replied: Even if I were given the lifespan of Nuh (peace be upon him) in exchange for narrating or not narrating this hadith, I would not be pleased.
Hadith 108
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الَّذِي يَأْتِي امْرَأَتَهُ حَائِضًا قَالَ: «يَتَصَدَّقُ بِدِينَارٍ أَوْ بِنِصْفِ دِينَارٍ».
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has intercourse with his menstruating wife should give one dinar or half a dinar in charity.
Hadith 107
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حَكِيمٍ الْأَثْرَمِ، عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمَةَ الْهُجَيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ أَتَى كَاهِنًا فَصَدَّقَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ أَوْ أَتَى امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا أَوْ أَتَى امْرَأَةً وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ».
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever goes to a soothsayer (fortune-teller) and affirms what he says, or has intercourse with his wife in the anus, or has intercourse with his wife during her menstrual period, then he has nothing to do with the religion which was revealed to Muhammad (the Noble, peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 106
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: «كُنْتُ إِذَا حِضْتُ أَمَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَّزِرُ فَكَانَ يُبَاشِرُنِي».
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when I was menstruating, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would instruct me to tie a waist-wrapper, and then he would lie down with me.
Hadith 105
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا بِهِ سُفْيَانُ، مَرَّةً أُخْرَى عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَ: ذُكِرَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «أَخْرِجُوا الْعَوَاتِقَ وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ لِيَشْهَدْنَ الْعِيدَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلْتَجْتَنِبِ الْحُيَّضُ مُصَلَّى الْمُسْلِمِينَ».
Sayyida Umm Atiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Bring out the young unmarried girls and the veiled women, so that they may participate in the Eid prayer and the supplications of the Muslims. However, menstruating women should stay away from the Eid prayer area of the Muslims.
Hadith 104
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُدْنِي إِلَيَّ رَأْسَهُ وَهُوَ مُجَاوِرٌ فَأَغْسِلُهُ وَأُرَجِّلُهُ وَأَنَا فِي حُجْرَتِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ».
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while in the state of i'tikaf, would bring his head close to me from the mosque, and I would be in my chamber, so I would wash and comb his hair, even though I was menstruating.
Hadith 103
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا تَقُولُ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَضَعُ رَأْسَهُ فِي حِجْرِ إِحْدَانَا وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَيَتْلُو الْقُرْآنَ».
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite the Qur'an while resting his head in the lap of one of us (his wives), even though she was menstruating.
Hadith 102
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَا: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «نَاوِلِينِي الْخُمْرَةَ» ، وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ قَالَتْ: إِنِّي حَائِضٌ قَالَ: «إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ فِي يَدِكِ».
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hand me the small mat (from the mosque). She said: I am menstruating. He said: Menstruation is not on your hand.
