Ablution after eating camel meat
Hadith 25
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ؟ قَالَ: «لَا» ، قَالَ: فَأُصَلِّي فِي مَرَاحِ الْغَنَمِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، قَالَ: فَأَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، قَالَ: فَأُصَلِّي فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ؟ قَالَ: «لَا».
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Should I perform ablution after eating goat meat? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: No. He asked: May I pray in the sheepfolds? He replied: Yes! He asked: Should I perform ablution after eating camel meat? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Yes! He asked: May I pray in the camel enclosures? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: No.
Hadith 26
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَاضِرٌ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أَأُصَلِّي فِي مَبَارِكِ الْإِبِلِ؟ قَالَ: «لَا» ، قَالَ: فَأَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِهَا؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، قَالَ: أَأُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، قَالَ: فَأَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِهَا؟ قَالَ: «لَا» قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَرَوَاهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ، وَأَشْعَثُ بْنُ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ.
Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: May I pray in the enclosures of camels? He replied: No. He asked: Should I perform ablution after eating camel meat? He replied: Yes! He asked: May I pray in the enclosures of goats? He replied: Yes! He asked: Should I perform ablution after eating their meat? He replied: No. Abu Muhammad says: Uthman bin Abdullah Muheb and Ash’ath bin Abi Sha’tha have narrated this from Ja’far bin Abi Thawr.
