باب ما جاء في النحل والهباتWhat is reported about gifts and donations
Hadith 995
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الأَخْنَسِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : أَتَى أَعْرَابِيُّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَبِي يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَجْتَاحَ مَالِي ، قَالَ : " أَنْتَ وَمَالُكَ لِوَالِدِكَ ، إِنَّ أَطْيَبَ مَا أَكَلْتُمْ مِنْ كَسْبِكُمْ ، وَإِنَّ أَمْوَالَ أَوْلادِكُمْ مِنْ كَسْبِكُمْ ، فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيئًا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: My father wants to waste my wealth. He (the Prophet) said: You and your wealth belong to your father. The purest food you eat is that which you earn, and your children’s wealth is from your earnings, so you may consume it well.
