باب ما جاء في النحل والهباتWhat is reported about gifts and donations
Hadith 994
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا إِسْحَاقُ الأَزْرَقُ ، قَالَ : ثنا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ ، ح وَثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالا : أنا عِيسَى ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ، قَالا : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَحِلُّ لِرَجُلٍ أَنْ يُعْطِيَ عَطِيَّةً فَيَرْجِعُ فِيهَا إِلا الْوَالِدُ فِيمَا يُعْطِي وَلَدَهُ ، وَمَثَلُ الَّذِي يُعْطِي الْعَطِيَّةَ فَيَرْجِعُ فِيهَا كَالْكَلْبِ أَكَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا نَمَّ ، وَقَالَ عَلَى شِبَعٍ ، قَاءَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فِي قَيْئِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible for anyone to give a gift to someone and then take it back, except for a father who gives something to his son. The one who gives a gift and then takes it back is like a dog that eats, and when it is full, it vomits, then licks it up.
