باب ما جاء في النذورWhat is reported about vows
Hadith 940
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ ، قَالَ : ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَاتَتْ أُمِّي وَعَلَيْهَا نَذَرٌ ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْضِيَهُ عَنْهَا " .
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that my mother passed away and she had a vow (nazr) upon her. I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he instructed me to fulfill the vow on her behalf.
