باب ما جاء في النذورWhat is reported about vows
Hadith 937
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ أُخْتَهُ نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَمْشِيَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ ، وَاسْتَفْتَى لَهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " مُرْهَا فَلْتَرْكَبْ " ، وَكَانَ أَبُو الْخَيْرِ يَلْزَمُ عُقْبَةَ .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that his sister had vowed to walk to the House of Allah (the Ka'bah). He sought a legal verdict from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding his sister, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Instruct her to ride (i.e., not to walk, but to use a mount). Abu al-Khair used to accompany Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him).
