باب ما جاء في النذورWhat is reported about vows
Hadith 934
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، قَالَ : ثني عُتْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ ابْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْوَرَّاقُ ، قَالَ : ثنا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ نَذَرَ أَنْ يُطِيعَ اللَّهَ فَلْيُطِعْهُ ، وَمَنْ نَذَرَ أَنْ يَعْصِيَهُ فَلا يَعْصِهِ " .
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever makes a vow to obey Allah should obey Him (i.e., fulfill the vow), and whoever makes a vow to disobey Allah should not disobey Him (i.e., should not fulfill the vow).
