باب ما جاء في الأيمانWhat is reported about oaths
Hadith 929
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنِ الحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا حَلَفْتَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ وَرَأَيْتَ غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَأْتِ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ وَكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you swear an oath to do something, then see another action better than it, then do the better action and offer expiation for your oath.
