Hadith 88
حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَتْهُ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ تَرَى فِي الْمَنَامِ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ؟ فَقَالَ: «إِذَا رَأَتِ الْمَاءَ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ» ، قَالَتْ: فَقُلْتُ: فَضَحْتِ النِّسَاءَ وَهَلْ تَحْتَلِمُ الْمَرْأَةُ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَرِبَتْ يَمِينُكِ فَبِمَا يُشْبِهُهَا وَلَدُهَا إِذًا».
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked about a woman who sees (discharge) like a man in a dream. He said: If she sees water (semen), then she should perform ghusl (ritual bath). Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I said, "You have disgraced women! Does a woman ever have a wet dream?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May your hand be covered in dust! Then how does the child resemble the mother?"
