Hadith 87
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، عَنْ مُهَاجِرِ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ لِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً وَلِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed the duration for wiping over the leather socks for a traveler as three days and nights, and for a resident as one day and night.
