باب ما جاء في الأشربةWhat is reported about drinks
Hadith 863
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ فَزُورُوهَا ، فَإِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا أُذِنَ لَهُ فِي زِيَارَةِ أُمِّهِ ، وَإِنَّهَا تُذَكِّرُ الآخِرَةَ ، وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ أَنْ تُمْسِكُوا عَنْ لُحُومِ الأَضَاحِي فَوْقَ ثَلاثٍ ، أَرَدْتُ بِذَلِكَ أَنْ يَتَّسِعَ أَهْلُ السَّعَةِ عَلَى مَنْ لا سَعَةَ لَهُ ، فَكُلُوا وَادَّخِرُوا ، وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنِ الظُّرُوفِ وَإِنَّ ظَرْفًا لا يَحِلُّ شَيْئًا وَلا يُحَرِّمُهُ ، وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ " .
Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I had forbidden you from visiting graves, so now do visit them, because Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has been granted permission to visit his mother's (grave); this reminds one of the Hereafter. I had forbidden you from keeping the meat of sacrifice for more than three days; my intention was that the wealthy people should create ease for those who do not have (the means for sacrifice). Now you may eat and store it as well. And I had forbidden you from using certain utensils; a utensil does not make anything lawful or unlawful. Every intoxicating thing is unlawful.
