Hadith 86
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عِيسَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، وَحَمَّادٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَدَلِيِّ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»
Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The duration for wiping over the socks for a traveler is three days and nights, and for a resident is one day and night.
