Hadith 846
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أنا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ عُكْلٍ وَعُرَيْنَةَ تَكَلَّمُوا بِالإِسْلامِ ، فَأَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ أَنَّهُمْ أَهْلُ ضَرْعٍ وَلَمْ يَكُونُوا أَهْلَ رِيفٍ ، وَشَكُوا حُمَّى الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَأَمَرَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَوْدٍ ، وَأَمَرَ لَهُمْ بِرَاعٍ ، وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا فَيَشْرَبُوا مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا وَأَبْوَالِهَا ، فَانْطَلَقُوا بِنَاحِيَةِ الْحَرَّةِ ، فَكَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِسْلامِهِمْ ، وَقَتَلُوا رَاعِيَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَاقُوا الذَّوْدَ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَبَعَثَ الطَّلَبَ فِي آثَارِهِمْ ، فَأَتَى بِهِمْ فَسَمَرَ أَعْيُنَهُمْ وَقَطَعَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ ، وَتُرِكُوا بِنَاحِيَةِ الْحَرَّةِ يَقْضِمُونَ حِجَارَتَهَا حَتَّى مَاتُوا " قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : فَبَلَغَنَا أَنَّ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ أنزلت فِيهِمْ : إِنَّمَا جَزَاءُ الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ سورة المائدة آية 33 .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that some people from the tribes of ‘Ukl and ‘Uraynah accepted Islam. They came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him that they were not farmers, but herdsmen, and they also complained about the fever of Madinah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered arrangements to be made for them with some camels and herdsmen, and instructed them to go outside (of Madinah), drink the milk and urine of the camels. They went to a corner of Harrah (a stony plain), and after accepting Islam, they became disbelievers (apostates). They killed the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) herdsman and drove away the camels. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) received this news, he sent people to search for them. They were brought (to him), so he had their eyes branded with heated irons and their hands and feet cut off. Then they were thrown at the edge of Harrah, and they died chewing stones. Qatadah says: We have been informed that the verse: __QUR_5_33__ “The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger...” (al-Ma’idah: 33) was revealed concerning them.
