Hadith 834
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطُّوسِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : ثنا مُجَاهِدٌ ، عَنْ جُنَادَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَتَلَ قَتِيلا مِنْ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ لَمْ يَرِحْ رَائِحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنَّ رِيحَهَا لَيُوجَدُ مِنْ كَذَا وَكَذَا " ، عَلَى مَا ذَكَرَ مُبَلِّغُهُ مَرْوَانَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever kills a Mu'ahid (a non-Muslim with whom there is a peace treaty), he will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise, though its fragrance can be perceived from a distance of forty years. Marwan, the narrator, has narrated it in the same way.
