Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I participated with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the expedition of 'Usrah (the expedition of Tabuk), and this was the deed I relied upon the most. I had a slave who got into a fight with another man. One of them bit the hand of his companion, and when he pulled his finger out, the biter's front tooth fell out. He came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for a decision, and the Prophet declared his tooth to be forfeit. Imam Ata bin Abi Rabah says: In my opinion, Safwan narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Would he have left his hand in your mouth so that you could chew it like a camel?
