Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that there were two co-wives. One of them struck the other with a stone or a tent pole, causing the other’s unborn child to miscarry. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled that the blood money (diyah) for the unborn child is a “ghurrah” (a male or female slave), and he placed the payment of the diyah upon the woman’s ‘asaba (male relatives).
