Hadith 773
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلا إِنَّ كُلَّ مَأْثُرَةٍ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ تُعَدُّ وَتُدْعَى مِنْ دَمٍ أَوْ مَالٍ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيَّ ، إِلا مَا كَانَ مِنْ سِقَايَةِ الْحَاجِّ وَسِدَانَةِ الْبَيْتِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : أَلا إِنَّ دِيَةَ الْخَطَإِ مَا كَانَ بِالسَّوْطِ ، أَوِ الْعَصَا مِائَةٌ مِنَ الإِبِلِ ، مِنْهَا أَرْبَعُونَ فِي بُطُونِهَا أَوْلادُهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Listen! Every blood (lineage), wealth, or any matter that was considered a source of pride in the days of ignorance is under my feet (it has no significance), except for giving water to pilgrims and protecting its (the Ka'bah's) house. Then he said: Listen! The blood money for accidental killing that occurs with a whip or stick is one hundred camels, among which forty should be pregnant (she-camels).
