حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي الْحَارِثِ ، قَالا : ثنا يَحْيَى هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ طَهْمَانَ ، قَالَ : ثني بُدَيْلٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ ابْنَةِ شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا لا تَلْبَسُ الْمُعَصْفَرَ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ ، وَلا الْمُمَشَّقَةَ ، وَلا الْحُلِيَّ ، وَلا تَخْتَضِبُ ، وَلا تَكْتَحِلُ " ، قَالَ : وَثَنِي بُدَيْلٌ ، أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : لَمْ أَرَهُمْ يَرَوْنَ بِالصَّبِرِ بَأْسًا .
The noble wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: A woman whose husband passes away should not wear yellow or ochre-dyed clothes, nor wear jewelry, nor apply henna, nor apply kohl. Hasan bin Muslim says: In my opinion, there is no harm in applying aloe.
