Hadith 766
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : أنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ح ، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَحْيَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْعَطَّارُ ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثُهُ ، قَالَ : أنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، قَالَ : أنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَحِلُّ لامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلاثَةٍ إِلا عَلَى زَوْجٍ ، فَإِنَّهَا تُحِدُّ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا ، وَلا تَكْتَحِلْ ، وَلا تَلْبَسْ ثَوْبًا مَصْبُوغًا إِلا ثَوْبَ عَصَبٍ ، وَلا تَمَسَّ طِيبًا إِلا عِنْدَ أَدْنَى طُهْرِهَا " .
Sayyida Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for any deceased person for more than three days, except for her husband, for whom she will mourn for four months and ten days. She should not apply kohl, nor wear colored clothing, except for a garment made of dyed yarn (which was dyed before being woven). She should not apply perfume, except when she becomes pure after menstruation (then she may apply a little perfume).
